How To Visualize Your Goals And Get What You Want

HowToVisualizeYourGoalsAndGetWhatYouWant

Well it’s that time of the year again…when our New Year’s resolutions have already become a distant memory for some of us!

In fact, in a survey carried out last year on 9th January, 75% of people said they were not confident they would continue their New Year’s resolutions until the end of the month. I mean, that’s not even two weeks into the New Year and already most people have started doubting themselves…!

So, now we’re in the fourth week of January most people have:

1. Given up on their goals

2. Completely forgotten about them and just got on with life

3. Resorted to hoping and praying that THIS year they will actually START their goals

Watch our 3 minute video on… how to visualize your goals and get what you want below.

After 20 years of teaching how to visualize your goals and get what you want through motivation and achievement-focused behavioural change, I’ve noticed that to achieve what you really want takes Clarity and Focus.

Now, don’t get scared! We have a fun way of doing this so you can go the distance and get the body you want and a life you love.

One key to getting your goals is to remember them and focus on them on a regular basis. What I mean by ‘regular’ is daily, or most days (5/7 days), as it’s all too easy to get distracted as life to gets busy.

So the fun way to remind yourself and get focused is to create a vision board and hang it somewhere where you get to view it daily.

Now a vision board is photographs, magazine cuttings, and drawings, words that represent your goals. As most of us are quite visual this is a wonderful way to visualize your goals and remind you of  how to get you really want, and then take action towards it.

By the way, the 21st Century modern woman’s version of a vision board is Pinterest!! I LOVE Pinterest – if you haven’t checked it out yet these are my various ‘vision boards’: Donna’s Pinterest.

We also love to think of role models – who will inspire us to look and feel our best? You’ll notice in the video that we had Kim Kardashian and Jillian Michaels on the front cover of our magazines – would either of these successful women inspire you, or would you pick someone else?

How to Get What You Want

To achieve the body, weight and health you want, we have given you 3 core areas of focus to support you to do this.

These 3 core areas are

  1. Weight and Health
  2. Relationships and Communication
  3. Career and Roles

We focus on these 3 core areas because as you know permanent weight loss and weight control are achieved through mastering your Mindset, Motivation and Metabolism.  These 3 core areas of focus for your goals directly impact on the 3BMI system: mindset, motivation and metabolism.

So now all you need to do is create your vision board with the things you really want, so that you can have the clarity and focus you need to Being Your Best You.

Over to you! Will you be doing your vision board with magazines and paper, or doing a digital version via Pinterest? And who will you use as a role model for yourself, Jillian Michaels?! Kim Kardashian?! Who else? Are you going to create your vision board to help you visualize your goals and get what you want? Let me know!

    Hi Donna an Tora,

Clarity and Focus! I have written my goals but I have not created a vision board yet. Your article (and video) reminds me one more time to not only put my goals (even the small ones) on paper, but also create images (vision board) that represent my goals so that they will get deeper into my subconscious mind. One of my mini goals for January was to publish a guest post on your site. I wrote down my goal, prepared the article, sent it to you, …and I am so glad you said you liked it and you are going to publish it!

Hi Matthew, I’m not just saying this, we have your post planned for early next week, we just wanted to get the timing right. I’ll let you know as soon as we have it up! It makes such a difference having a visual of your goals, I didn’t used to think much of it until I saw how effective it was ~ Tora
